Fishing Competition

MAJOR FISHING COMPETITION Number 2 Results
We held our second Major fishing competition for the year on March 10th which was the Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend.
The weather was perfect so we had a lot of competitors. I counted 22 boat trailers which is easily the most I’ve ever seen here.
There were plenty of fish caught and the big news was that for the first time ever we had two kingfish weighed in which is very exciting.
As usual after the prizes were awarded and everyone enjoyed a beautiful roast lunch which is now free to all competing Anglers.
The senior winner was Joel Norton with a Kingfish 4150 points.
Second was Harley Davies also with a kingy a tad smaller than Joel’s 3940 points. Third was our reigning club champion Andrew Clarke with a snapper 2680 points. In the Junior section the winner was Daisy Lodge with a Mackerel 2880 points. Second was Zane Lodge with a snapper 2390 points and third was Jack Addison with a flathead 2330 points.

Tom Dawson with 5 kingfish and a Tuna caught by himself and Kaide Love off Lorne recently.

LIVE MUSIC
On the evening after our fishing comp on the Sunday of the long weekend we had our local rock legend Ron Hollmer and his band perform live at the club. The weather was perfect and a good size crowd rocked the night away and a great time was had by all.
